Grandma's Flavors food has captivated me since I was a small child. During the partition of India and Pakistan, my parents moved to Iran. My mother had studied Iranian cuisine and was already an adept in Indian cuisine. I grew up loving both cuisines because my mother loved to cook and could conjure up delectable dishes with ease.

She was not only my cooking teacher but also my life mentor. She was a multi-talented woman who could accomplish practically anything. She was a great proponent of fresh food and enjoyed cultivating veggies. For my children and grandchildren, I have followed in her footsteps and highlighted the importance of fresh food.

My grandchildren are my pride and delight, and nothing makes me happier than seeing them smile. They enjoy my cooking, and nothing makes me happier than to prepare meals for them. Tarina Ahuja, my grand-daughter, was the driving force behind the publication of this book. As a gift for her 16th birthday, she asked me to go on this path of authoring a cookbook. This book is more than just a collection of delicious recipes.

My other grandkids, Armaan Aikus Shahan and Reyna, each have their own personal favorites. I adore their smiles, and I hope that when they grow up, they will pass on these recipes to their own families. Here's to all the mothers and grandmothers from all walks of life who only want to see their children smile.

I hope you all have as much fun cooking these foods for your family as I do.

Eat fresh foods, live a healthy lifestyle, and keep a positive attitude Said Grandma's Flavors.
